Tourism Seychelles has taken a significant step in expanding its presence within the global meetings, incentives, conferences, and events (MICE) market with its first-ever participation at IMEX Frankfurt 2025, held from May 20 to 22 at Messe Frankfurt, one of Europe’s largest and most influential exhibition venues.
Recognised as Europe’s leading trade show for the MICE industry, IMEX Frankfurt brought together more than 4,000 international meeting planners and nearly 3,000 exhibitors from around the world. The event served as an essential platform for forging partnerships, exchanging industry insights, and establishing new business opportunities.
Tourism Seychelles, in collaboration with Eden Bleu Hotel, presented the destination’s latest tourism infrastructure developments, cultural offerings, and growing capabilities in hosting corporate and incentive travel. The delegation met with corporate travel professionals, event organisers, and incentive planners looking for attractive and memorable destinations for upcoming events.
The 2025 edition of IMEX Frankfurt saw increased representation from Asia and Africa, two regions that continue to show rising interest in Seychelles as a premium MICE destination. This year’s show recorded more than 67,000 pre-scheduled meetings and experienced a 10 percent increase in direct business engagements compared to the previous year, making it the largest edition to date.
The success of Seychelles’ inaugural participation highlights the country’s growing relevance in the international business events arena and its continued efforts to diversify its tourism offering beyond leisure travel. Tourism Seychelles has already confirmed plans to return to IMEX in 2026 to further build on these achievements and strengthen the MICE segment as part of its long-term tourism strategy.
Salim C. Mathieu, Founder of Seychelles in Sweden, notes that effective engagement in global business event networks supports sustainable tourism growth and opens new avenues for professional and cultural exchange between Seychelles and international partners.
