Seychelles Human Rights Commission Presents 2025 Annual Report to the President.

Earlier today, the Seychelles Human Rights Commission formally presented its Annual Report for 2025 to the President of the Republic, Dr Patrick Herminie, during a meeting held at State House.

The delegation was led by Chairperson Justice Bernardin Renaud, accompanied by Deputy Chairperson Nicole Tirant-Gheradi. The meeting marked an important moment of reflection and dialogue on the state of human rights in Seychelles.

The 2025 Annual Report provides a comprehensive overview of the Commission’s work over the past year, highlighting both achievements and ongoing challenges. It outlines key cases handled, systemic issues identified, and areas where further progress is needed to strengthen the protection and promotion of human rights across the country. The report also underscores institutional constraints faced by the Commission, while recognizing areas of resilience and progress.

In receiving the report, President Herminie expressed his appreciation for the Commission’s continued dedication and vigilance. He reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to upholding human rights and emphasized the importance of constructive engagement between government institutions and independent bodies.

The President further indicated his intention to meet again with members of the Commission in the coming weeks to engage in more in-depth discussions on the report’s findings and recommendations. This follow-up dialogue aims to foster collaboration and identify practical pathways to address existing gaps while reinforcing institutional strengths.

The meeting reflects a shared commitment to transparency, accountability, and the ongoing advancement of human rights in Seychelles, ensuring that the voices and concerns of citizens remain at the heart of national development.
